On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors of Spring Cottage Primary School, I welcome you to our school.
We are extremely proud of our school and the achievements of our pupils. Spring Cottage has a strong reputation for academic, artistic and sporting success. Our school was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in our last inspection in 2008, and since then, results have continued to improve, and our school has continued to develop.
In 2014 the DfE and National College for Teaching & Leadership designated Spring Cottage as a National Teaching School and National Support School.
We converted to Academy status in February 2014 to enable the school to benefit from the autonomy to make our own decisions regarding curriculum and procurement. The school have now become part of Horizon Academy Trust, a partnership made up of local Primary Schools (Biggin and Cleeve). This provides support and challenge throughout the school.
Spring Cottage aims to offer all of our children an excellent education that is full of challenge, interest and fun. In addition, each child is encouraged to build their self-confidence, to develop self-reliance, to take risks without fear of failure, and to make informed decisions about their own learning.
At Spring Cottage we aim to ‘grow together, learn together and make the most of every day.’
Mr A Rhodes
